About Founder Sarah Whaley

I am the founder of Whaley Special Education Advocacy, LLC. I am a former educator with over 10 years of educational experience in the General Education and Special Education environment, working with grades K3-3rd grade. I received my Bachelor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed my Special Education teaching program through CESA (Cooperative Educational Service Agency). I am also a Nationally Certified Deafblind Intervener. I am a co-founder of Camp Kindred, an intentional summer camp working to disrupt segregation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Advocacy work has always been at the core of what I do.  As a teacher, I wanted children to feel safe and loved; to feel that they are welcome and belong at school; to love learning and to be excited when they accomplish something; to be challenged but feel supported. Now as an advocate, I want to help you and your family receive this type of education.

I am uniquely qualified to be your Special Education advocate because I have experience both in helping create and lead IEP teams of up to 15 members and because I have experience implementing those IEPs in the General Education environment.  I have seen the difficulties of the Special Education system so I am a compassionate and motivated agent of change.
